
• 1995: Cindy van der Peet
(1976) started out in the beauty sector, initially as a freelance
make-up artist and later on with a total concept for a hairdressing,
beauty and nail salon, plus a photography studio.
• 1999:
Jointly with her partner Bas van Duivenbooden (1975), who, in that
year, completed his marketing and commercial economy studies, she
founded Ciba Cosmetics. The young entrepreneurs find that creativity
and support are lacking in existing suppliers and discover that many
other beauty specialists felt similarly. They launch the German skin
care brand Secrets on the Dutch market.
• 2002:
As in the current make-up products that are on offer they are not able
to find anything that meets their requirements, they establish the
brand LOOkX, the first cornerstone of which is a modern make-up
collection.
• 2004:
Because of the company’s international ambition, in the future Ciba
Cosmetics will be known as LOOkX Group, a strong and international
name. During that year, the company moves to Heiloo.
• 2005: In cooperation with three physicians and a leading Swiss laboratory, they establish the LOOkX Skincare division.
• 2007: An expansion of the LOOkX brand by LOOkX lifestyle accessories, which are only sold to consumers on-line.
• 2009: LOOkX skin care and make-up are used successfully in various countries including Hong Kong, China, Hungary and the BeNeLux.
