HISTORY


1995:
Cindy van der Peet (1976) starts her career  in the cosmetics industry, first as a freelance make up artist, later with a total beauty concept for hair, beauty and nails including a photo studio. 
  
1999:
Together with her partner Bas van Duivenbooden (1975), who has a degree in marketing and economics, she founds Ciba Cosmetics. The two young entrepreneurs miss creativity and support with their existing suppliers and discover that many beauty salons experience the same lack. They launch the German skincare brand Janssen (then called Secrets) on the Dutch market. 

       
2002:
Since none of the existing make up products live up to their standards, they establish the brand LOOkX. The first focus is on a modern make up collection. 

2005:
To better fit the international ambitions, the name Ciba is changed into LOOkX Group, a powerful international name. The company moves to Heiloo, the Netherlands (25 kilometres north of Amsterdam, surrounded by bulb fields). 

   
2005:
In cooperation with three doctors and a leading Swiss laboratory the division LOOkX Skincare is founded. 
       
2007:
Extension of the LOOkX brand with accessories, that are sold online to consumers, and the opening of the first brand store in Alkmaar, the Netherlands.  

2009:
LOOkX Skincare and make-up are a success in amongst others Hong Kong, China, Hungary (4 LOOkX Stores) and the BeNeLux.

2011:
After extensive consultation with the dealers (300+ beauty salons and hairdressers) a web shop is opened, that is also very profitable to the salons. Together with a mediapartner LOOkX online is started.

2012:
The company growth and developments demand different logistics. LOOkX moves its large warehouse and starts an extensive partnership with a fulfilment partner.

2013:
Launch of interactive website combined with a shop. Opening of the first LOOkX pop up stores in Amsterdam.

2014:
Opening first in-house store in shopping experience "Melange 7". Launch of the first best seller line "LOOkX Moisture" that gets a lot of media attention.  

2015:
LOOkX is the first brand to launch a break through in anti-ageing technology: LOOkX Retinol2ndG, with an innovative encapsulated Retinol combined with plant stem cells.  LOOkX is also nominated for an important business award for entrepreneurs and buys back its stock from the media partner.
In November the first franchise Powered by LOOkX store is opened.
